Sounique Child prepares your child for success!

Introduction

Welcome to our setting, where educational and social development go hand in hand. Our tailored activities focus on making learning fun and the whole child means that every child will find a happy home here.

Our Setting

Our beautiful home includes state-of-the-art technology in all rooms, age-appropriate play areas for children from newborn through to starting reception. Our experienced, skilled staff works together as a team to guide your child through his or her learning journey.

Teaching and Learning

There is no formal teaching.  We provide real and concrete experiences to support children to help themselves, help others and help nature.  We are a mix of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Montessori Early Childhood approach and Forest School blended to support children to be active learners, independent and confident. We follow the interest of children, individually, to support their development at their pace.  We have broad half termly themes.

We support children to respect and help each other, to be independent and develop the love of learning.  We believe, for example, that being kind is as important as knowing numbers and letters.

NOT ALL CHILDCARE IS THE SAME

How We Keep You Informed

We use a secure online setting management system to monitor children's development. We provide you with a daily report on your child's day.  The report includes toileting, food, activities, development milestones observed, pictures and videos and any other commentary of your child's time with us.

We send out a weekly newsletter detailing activities and themes of the week, food menu, schedule and any other setting relevant updates and information.

Progress reports on children's development are updated on a daily basis but termly summaries of these developments are provided for all children.

At the heart of what we do is to make learning fun.  We use the wealth of our own mothering styles and academic achievements to support the children in our care.

How We Reflect On Our Practice

We use and embrace the Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale (FCCERS) to review our provision and continuously improve our service.   Ofsted require that all practitioners are reflective and the Early Years Foundation Stage Mandatory and guidance detail WHAT the minimum acceptable level of care should be.  We use FCCERS to review our practice and provide evidence on HOW we deliver against the EYFS requirements and the steps we have taken, as reflective practitioners, to substantiate what we do.
